Why consistency matters with home IPL
IPL is not a one-off interaction with every hair at once. Hair follicles can be at different points in their natural cycle, which is why light-based hair reduction is approached as a repeated routine over time.
01 / The misconception
One treatment cannot meet every hair at the same moment.
Individual follicles do not all move through the hair-growth cycle together. At a given time, some hairs can be actively growing while others are transitioning, resting or shedding.
That asynchronous cycle is important context for understanding why light-based hair reduction is repeated rather than treated as a single event.

02 / Active growth
Why anagen matters.
Anagen is the active-growth phase, when the follicle is producing the hair shaft. General evidence about light-based hair reduction associates treatment with active growth.
03 / Repetition
The routine follows the cycle.
Because different hairs can be at different points in the cycle, treatment is repeated over time. This allows treatment occasions to coincide with different hairs as they enter active growth.
Consistency therefore describes the principle of returning to a routine across the natural cycle. It does not mean treating continuously, and it does not establish a universal treatment interval.
04 / What IPL does not do
IPL does not read an individual hair’s phase.
An IPL device does not identify whether an individual hair is in anagen, catagen, telogen or exogen. Repeated treatment is used because hairs cycle asynchronously—not because the device detects and selects hairs by phase.
05 / CYPH/1
Why we are not publishing a treatment schedule yet.
CYPH/1 is still in pre-launch product development. We will not publish an exact treatment frequency, session count or outcome before the final product and its instructions have been selected and verified.
When the CYPH/1 product is ready, its verified instructions—not a generic online schedule—will define how it should be used.
